How to run a BTC grid bot on Bybit (spot, step by step).
Bybit is one of the easiest exchanges for running a BTC grid bot on spot. This guide shows the full setup with Daily Trade, from an empty account to your first completed trade, and what to expect after.
Step 1: Prepare your Bybit account
- Create a Bybit account and complete the identity verification Bybit asks for.
- Deposit or buy USDT.
- Make sure the USDT is in your Unified Trading account (Assets → Unified Trading). If it's in Funding, use Bybit's "Transfer" button to move it.
Step 2: Create a safe API key
The API key lets the bot place orders for you. It never needs permission to withdraw your money.
- On Bybit: profile → API → Create New Key → System-generated API Keys.
- Choose API Transaction and set permissions to Read-Write.
- Turn on Spot → Trade only.
- Leave Withdraw OFF. Always.
- Optional: turn on Account Transfer if you want the Profit wallet (each trade's profit is moved to your Bybit Funding account). Leave Subaccount Transfer off.
- Restrict the key to the IP address shown in your Daily Trade settings, so the key only works from our trading server.

Step 3: Connect it to Daily Trade
- Sign up free on Daily Trade.
- Open Settings → Exchange, choose Bybit and paste your API key and secret. Keys are stored encrypted.
- Click Test my key. It checks the connection and permissions before anything trades.
Step 4: Choose your amount and style
- Amount: how much of your USDT the bot may use. It never uses more, and never touches BTC you already had.
- Style: start with Balanced (0.5% step, 5 levels). Why: best grid bot settings.
The bot places its first buy orders a little below the current price. When one fills, it places a sell 0.5% higher. When that sells, you've completed a round trip.
Step 5: Watch it work
- Live chart: every buy and sell drawn on the real BTC chart.
- Telegram alerts: a message for every completed trade and a daily summary (Settings → Account).
- Bybit app: you'll see the bot's orders under Spot → Open Orders. They're normal limit orders on your own account.
What to expect
Our own $300 bot on Bybit had 37 completed trades and 0 losing trades by mid-October 2026, about $0.19 profit per trade at that size. Busy weeks with BTC moving up and down bring more trades; quiet weeks bring fewer.
When BTC falls a lot, the bot holds the BTC it bought and waits. Its sell orders sit above the price until BTC comes back. That's normal: it never sells its own BTC below the buy price unless you turn on the stop loss.
Bybit's built-in grid bot vs Daily Trade
Bybit also has its own grid bot inside the app, and it's a good tool. Daily Trade runs a spot grid on your Bybit account through the API and adds:
- A paper mode with $1,000 of virtual money to practice first
- A public backtest that shows the worst dip, not only the profit
- Automatic re-centering of buy orders when BTC runs away
- Telegram alerts, a daily summary, and an optional Profit wallet
- A full Arabic interface
